Catadogs adoption of dogs in a new New York City market is up 50% over last year, and is up 70% over 2016, the company announced today.
The company is using a new breed of dog to bring adoption to the city, called the Pitbull.
This breed has been in use in New York since 2008, but has only been available for adoptions in the city for three years, said Adriana Mancuso, president and chief executive officer of Catadogi, Inc.
The new breed, named the PitBull, is a “new and exciting breed” that has been adopted by thousands of people in New Jersey, Mancoso said.
She noted that Pitbulls are very smart, and they are very protective and they like to run, she said.
They are very social dogs and they do very well in the neighborhood.
They are very easy to train and they thrive in the backyard.
“The company’s goal is to train the Pit Bull to be a good neighborhood dog and to be able to handle other dogs, Manchoso told ABC News.
This is the fourth year in a row that Catadoggies adoption of Pit Bulls in New Orleans has increased by more than 50%.
It was up 51% in New Haven, Connecticut, and 50% in Los Angeles.
The average adoption fee for the Pit Bulls is $5,000, which is not a bargain for a pet, but it is reasonable, Manches said.
Catadogs has been working with local shelters to help with the adoption of this breed.
The company is working with the Greater New York Area Animal Rescue Society, the Louisiana Humane Society and the Louisiana County Sheriffs Office, she added.

Catabog said the average adoption cost of a Pit Bull is about $12,000.
It is a dog that people can adopt easily.
It is an easy-to-train breed and we think it is going to be really successful,” Mancisos said.
“This is a great breed to adopt because they have a natural instinct and they don’t need much training,” Manches added.

Catbog has been able to find many homes for Pit Bulls who have been adopted through the New York and New Haven Animal Shelters, Mances said.
It will be difficult for people to adopt this breed as it is not known for being well-socialized.
Catabyog said they will be working with shelters in other states and cities to bring the PitBoys in to the state of New York.
